VOLUNTARY TUITION - WHAT IS THAT?!

Our Voluntary Tuition Drive is the first of our three major fundraisers through the year where we try to raise enough money to fund our proposed spend for next academic year. El Granada Elementary is a public school, so there's no tuition — but the PTO relies on family donations to fund things the school budget doesn't cover, like educational enrichment programs, assemblies and our amazing Art and Science Week in April, stipends for every teacher, funding our specialist TK-3rd PE teacher, funding field trips and school spirit events. Our Voluntary Tuition Drive asks each family to give what they can, with a suggested $317 per student this year, to support these programs. Every gift helps, and 100% goes straight back to our kids.

WHY $317?

$317 is the amount required to full fund all of the programs provided by the PTO for one student in a typical year (our proposed spend of $107,000 for this 2026-27 school year divided by our number of students this year).

Here’s what your support provides:

$5 → an EGE shirt for a new student (Dolphin pride!)
$10 → one PTO-funded assembly
$25 → school supplies for one student for the year
$30 → Arts & Science Week for one student
$317 → everything PTO funds for one student for the whole year

We’re aiming to raise $25,000 during the drive, running August 27–September 11.

HOW TO GIVE

It's easy to donate:

Pay online in a lump sum or in monthly installments through our donation page or with PayPal (elgranada.pto@gmail.com)
Pay by check, payable to El Granada PTO and return it to the El Granada School office
Pay by cash - bring the Dolphin donation envelope to the front office or Dolphin Mailbox
Pay by card reader at the PTO table outside school
